Man praying
Prayer is about declaring God's promises over your situation, not just asking for help.

Today, let's explore a powerful truth about prayer that transforms how we approach God. This isn't just about asking for things; it's about understanding our role in establishing God's promises on earth. As His children, we have been given authority to speak His word over our situations and see transformation happen.

The Father's Heart

God is not just like a father, He is your Father. This distinction changes everything about our relationship with Him. When we truly grasp that we are His children, we understand that He has given us access to His kingdom, His authority, and His promises.

The heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to mankind.Psalm 115:16

This verse reveals a profound truth: while God maintains sovereignty over heaven, He has delegated authority over earth to us. Like a CEO who works through regional managers, God chooses to work through His children to establish His will on earth.

From Desolation to Eden

In Ezekiel 36, God speaks of remarkable transformation:

They will say, "This land that was laid waste has become like the Garden of Eden; the cities that were lying in ruins, desolate and destroyed, are now fortified and inhabited."Ezekiel 36:35

God's vision for restoration isn't just improvement, it's complete transformation to Eden-like perfection. In the Garden of Eden, everything was perfect: the climate, the food, relationships, and God's presence. Nothing was lacking, missing, or broken. This is what God desires for your life.

The Power of Prophetic Prayer

Traditional prayer often focuses on "give me" requests. But God reveals a more powerful approach in Ezekiel 36. After declaring what He will do, He says:

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will yield to Israel's plea and do this for them.Ezekiel 36:37

God has already decided what He wants to do in your life, but He waits for you to ask not with begging, but with declaring His promises over your situation.

Declaring Over Asking

Instead of merely asking God to fix problems, we're called to speak to our mountains our challenges and obstacles. We declare God's word over them, establishing His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.

For example, rather than repeatedly asking, "Give me a child," you might prophesy over your home: "This sofa will be filled with children. This dining table will host family gatherings." Then declare God's word: "There is no barrenness in me. I am fruitful and will conceive a child who will serve God."

This approach aligns with Jesus' teaching on prayer: "Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." We're not informing God of our problems but declaring His solutions over them.

Your Role in God's Plan

Even though God has decided everything He wants to do in your life, He has given you the authority to establish it through declaration. You are the "CEO" of earth, with the responsibility to implement heaven's decisions through your words and faith.

"I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it." - Ezekiel 36:36

God speaks first, then acts. Similarly, we must speak His promises before seeing them manifest.

Conclusion

Prayer isn't merely about presenting requests to God but declaring His word over your circumstances. As His child, you have been given authority to establish His kingdom on earth. Speak to your mountains, declare His promises, and watch as desolate places become like the Garden of Eden in your life.

Reflect on This

  1. What areas of your life need transformation from desolation to Eden-like abundance?

  2. How might your prayers change if you focused more on declaring God's promises rather than just asking for His help?

Prayer

Father, I thank You for making me Your child and giving me authority on earth. I declare Your word over every area of my life that needs restoration. What You have spoken, You will do. I receive the Eden-like abundance You've planned for me. Every broken place is being rebuilt, every wasteland restored. I stand in the authority You've given me and establish Your kingdom in my life. In Jesus' name, I declare it done.
